What this is
Codex Arcanum is an educational and entertainment app for exploring ancient manuscripts and esoteric writing systems. It is not religious instruction, divination service, occult ritual guidance, or medical/psychological advice. Translations and tutor responses are produced by an AI model and may be inaccurate.
Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) use the app to produce content that violates applicable law, (b) attempt to extract another user's data, (c) abuse the AI endpoints with automated traffic, (d) submit copyrighted material you do not own to the Decoder, (e) use the app to harass, threaten, or harm any person.
Accounts
Sign-in is via Google OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Payments
The Initiate's Codex ($4.99) and Adept's Codex ($14.99) are one-time purchases that unlock additional Codex features for life — they are never recurring subscriptions, never auto-renew, and never charge your card a second time. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase: email support@codexarcanum.app. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion. App-store purchases follow the refund policy of the platform you purchased through (Apple, Google, Samsung).
Subscription Terms (if introduced)
Codex Arcanum currently has no recurring subscriptions. If we introduce a recurring tier in the future, you will be shown the price, billing period, and auto-renewal terms before any charge, and existing one-time-purchase users will be grandfathered into their tier at no additional cost. You will always be able to cancel a future subscription in-app or via the platform store before the next billing cycle. No charges are made without explicit consent.
Account deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data in-app at any time via the dashboard or the Support page, or by emailing privacy@codexarcanum.app. Financial records are anonymized but retained as required by tax law.
Intellectual property
The Codex Arcanum brand, design, and original written content (manuscript summaries, alphabet glosses, tutor persona) are © 2026 Codex Arcanum. The underlying scripts (Enochian, Hebrew, Devanagari, etc.) are public-domain historical artifacts. Translations the AI produces from your input belong to you.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is." We make no warranty that translations are accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any spiritual claim is true. The AI is a language model — it can be wrong, especially on rare scripts.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
